THE JUROR

Eric Hagan

Eric Hagan is a kinetic sculptor, fabricator, and professor based in Queens. His work has included animated christmas window displays for iconic Manhattan retail locations, large scale art installations including Kara Walker’s A Subtly, and contributions to the HY-FI installation at MOMA PS.

Kyle Li

Kyle Li is the program director of BFA Design & Technology at Parsons School of Design and an award winning interaction designer. His body of work and research wraps around the affordence of playful experiences manifested by both physical and digital mediums. He helped build the world’s first public school that bases its curriculum entirely on game theory and game mechanics. He won the Best in Class: Innovation award and People’s Choice award from HASTAC and The White House for his work around game and learning through a mainstream video game. He designed the first complete indie game design pathway at Parsons. He recently launched a brand new minor study at Parsons called Immersive Storytelling, in which students learn to design meaningful experiences for immersive media platforms such as virtual reality, augmented reality, projected environment, and interactive theater.

Min Liu

Min Liu is a Taiwanese artist, who earned her BA in 2010 from National Taiwan University in Taipei and her MFA in Computer Art with a concentration in 2D animation and motion graphics from the School of Visual Arts, NYC in 2013, and she focuses on hand drawn cel animation since then.

Federico Muelas

Federico Muelas is the Founder and Artistic Director of Blue Flower Studio and he has a strong combined background in Visual Arts and Art in Public Spaces with over ten years professional experience.

Goo-Shun Wang

Goo-Shun Wang is a senior camera and staging artist in Bluesky Studios, the movies he participated include Ice Age 4 & 5, Rio 2, Epic, and Peanuts movie. He also worked as lead animator at Psyop in New York.

Sandy Lin

Producer

Sandy (Yun-Hsuan) founded her online fashion store, La Ropa, after gaining her BE in Computer Science from National Taiwan Normal University. Throughout the process of creating La Ropa, Sandy discovered the importance of developing a brand identity through visual design. Sandy also loves to travel and shoots film. Through her lens, she transfers her own perspective towards this world to her audience. Sandy is currently working towards her Masters in Integrated Digital Media from New York University.

Mu-Ti Huang

Co-Producer

Mu-Ti Huang is a digital designer, storyteller, and critical thinker who specializes in motion graphics, visual storytelling, and interactive media in New York City. He obtained a BFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design. Focusing on the relationship between humans and technology in the majority of his projects through various media, such as motion graphics, film, installation, etc. Mu-Ti believes that designers are able to solve critical issues around the world with design thinking and effective storytelling. His film “Level On” is selected as the Adobe Design Achievement Awards Honorable Mention in Motion Graphics Category in 2015.

Shirley Wu

Curator, Copywriter

Shirley Wu is an international arts administrator born in Taipei, Taiwan. Recently a graduate of the Arts and Cultural Management program at Pratt Institute, Shirley embarks on a mission to build her career in New York. She strongly believes that a good arts administrator should be a bridge between artists and their audiences and endeavors to carry out that principle through her work. Her professional experiences include Flushing Town Hall, Taipei Film Festival, Mr. Wing Theatre Company, and so on.

Benson Chuang

Consultant / Operations Coordinator

Chin-Lung [Benson] Chuang is a user interface and user experience designer born in Taichung, Taiwan. Chuang obtained his BFA in Animation and Visual Effects from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco (2011), and a MFA in Computer Art with a concentration in interaction design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City (2015). As a strong creative and analytical thinker, Chuang’s work is noted for its ability to tackle complex design issues through the use of innovative tactics and a deceptively simple visual language that effortlessly communicates multidimensional messages.

Vivi Lee

Art Director

Vivi Yu Wen Lee / 李育玟 is a visual designer and animator born in Taiwan, currently based in NYC. She received her MFA degree in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design. Vivi enjoys crafting visual ideas across different media. She explores experimental creative process and expands her artistic domain to various fields through film and animation. Her work has screened internationally at festivals such as CutOut Fest, ANILOGUE, GLAS Animation Festival. With a passion for art and design, Vivi is always looking for an innovative way to create a compelling visual experience.

Kang Peng

Web Developer

Kang Peng is an interactive developer based in New York. He focuses on network applications, front-end web development, and physical computing. His projects were exhibited at NYC Media Lab, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Kang currently works as a front-end developer at Digital Experience Department of The New York Public Library.

Ray Hung

Workshop Designer, Equipment Coordinator

Ray is an innovative interactive programmer from Taipei, Taiwan. He is currently a Design and Technology MFA candidate at Parsons School of Design. With a background in computer science, he implemented the techniques and knowledge with design thinking and creates visual and interactable projects, such as creative coding, games, apps, etc. Ray enjoys the dynamics in interactive design process, and hopes to deliver an emotional experience to spectators through his work.

Emily Hsu

Public Relations, Copywriter

Emily Hsu is a textile and product designer based in New York City. She was first exposed to product design through furniture making. In addition to practicing construction techniques, Emily also delves into joinery detail, materials, and color sensibility. She discovered a passion in designing products that integrated social awareness/develop in its design philosophy. Emily received her BFA degree in Product Design from Parsons School of Design. The majority of her work plays with juvenile challenges, household accessories, and furniture.

Sarah Hsu

Public Relations

Originally born in Taichung, Taiwan, Sarah has worked as a freelance translator for PRESTIGE Taiwan and participated in Idea 1966 Design Group in Taiwan as a design assistant and exhibition curator. Recently, she received her AAS degree in Advertising & Marketing Communications from Fashion Institute of Technology, and will continue to work towards her BS degree in the same major in 2017.
